Senspex offers customized thermal imaging solutions for security and surveillance in both mid- (cooled) and long-wave (uncooled) infrared wavelengths. We provide turn-key solutions including integration, installation, and on-site training, as well as hardware and software support. Senspex’s mid-wavelength cooled cameras operate in the spectrum of 3-5µm, offering superb resolution as well as continuous zoom, 640 x 480 pixel arrays, and digital output.  Our Extreme Long-Range thermal camera is capable of detecting a human target up to 18 kilometers. Our long-wave, uncooled cameras operate in the spectrum of 8-12µm, and are an ideal cost-effective choice. These cameras are designed for short-range applications for human detection up to 3 kilometers.

Thermal Imaging Advantages:

  • Vision at night without any ambient light (i.e. stars, moon)
  • No blooming problems or detector saturation
  • See through smoke, rain, fog and gases
  • Completely passive (provide user with imagery without announcing to intruders that they are being monitored)

Introduction to Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging is a technology that captures heat emitted by objects. Hotter objects, such as warm bodies, have a greater level of emissivity than cooler objects such as trees or buildings. Depending on the user's preference, a camera's polarity can be changed so that hotter objects can be seen as either white or black.

Senspex offers two types of thermal cameras: cooled and uncooled. Additional wavelengths are available for custom applications.

Cooled IR Cameras

Indium antimonide (InSb) CMOS detector
Highly sensitive - QE 80-90%

3-5 micron spectral region

Uncooled IR Cameras

Microbolometer Technology using Vanadium Oxide (VOx)

8-12 micron spectral region
